I could not get enough of this firecracker! She absolutely crushed her 50’s themed nursing graduation photoshoot both in studio and outdoors. This girl has been through a lot in the past few years and to reach graduation thriving was something to celebrate. She came ready to party and that’s what we did.
College graduation photos are a rite of passage for many students as they mark the end of one chapter and the beginning of a new adventure. These photoshoots are an opportunity for graduates to capture their academic achievements, who they have become and create lasting memories. But beyond the sentimental value, college graduation photos can be a complete blast.
Firstly, the prep for this photoshoot is an exciting process. Graduates get to choose their outfits, we chat and plan any special ideas, choose a hair and makeup look, and bring their own vision to the photoshoot. It’s a chance to show off personal style and express individuality. Who doesn’t love having a bit of fun?
Jess came to me looking for graduation photos from nursing school; wanting some with her cap and gown, some with her dog and an overall theme of the classic nurse look to have fun with. She shared the photo she found as inspiration and we went from there.
Based on this photo she decided she needed to find a classic nurse outfit, and learn to style her hair in a 50’s sort of way. I suggested we do a 2 part session starting in studio as to capture the true look of her inspiration photo, and then move outside to a vintage style background to finish out the shoot, she happily agreed. We both set out on our missions to find the perfect outfit and location… you could say we knocked it out of the park 👊🏼
Day of she and pup arrived with this fantastic dress, a fun pair of red 50’s style heels, a dark red hair color, and this amazing vintage Montana Tech nursing cap. We put it all together and it was exactly what she wanted!
Studio: We started in the studio as to keep hair in tact and the white outfit clean. The studio allowed for a range of poses and created endless possibilities for unique and creative shots based on the 50’s classic nurse theme. And don’t forget about the props – graduation cap, gown, stethoscope, and “playing the role” added a playful touch to the photos.
Outdoor Location: Moving over to our second outdoor location in Helena, MT we decided on a place called Reeder’s Alley. It offers the classic brick and streetlamp backdrop to stick with our theme and her white nurse outfit popped perfectly. Here we incorporated her pup as well as took a second shoot of props and finished up with a few more theatrical styled photos for this Graduating Senior.
In conclusion, college graduation photos are more than just a formality – they are a fun and meaningful experience that celebrates a major life achievement. They provide an opportunity for graduates to express their individuality, incorporate their future careers, create lasting memories and mark a significant milestone in their lives. So, if you’re graduating soon, don’t hesitate to book a studio and outdoor photoshoot – you won’t regret it!
