The Tobacco Root Mountains are a stunner, subtle but intense they open up for the ideal Montana scene in my opinion. If you were to ask me to describe Montana in one image, this would be it. Tall mountains, blue colors, snowy rugged peaks, big open fields, dirt roads, and a big old storm rollin in. This range creates that captivating and romantic ambiance that is hard to find.
Whether you prefer the golden hues of a sunset, the vibrant colors a rainy spring into early summer bring, or the intense skies to create that wow factor, the Tobacco Roots and these two had it all. Plus these mountains are a bit more secluded, giving you space to choose your view, and just have fun with each other. You get authentic, genuine emotions when you can just enjoy.

Normally i don’t talk specifically about my couples on here, but I have to take a moment to share my appreciation for these two. Believe it or not these two have never had professional photos done. They told me they were probably going to be awkward and didn’t know what they were doing, but they just wanted to be genuinely themselves, have fun, and didn’t care about anything else.
They just absolutely crushed it.
Many times people are worried about every detail, clear skies, they want really specific photos, or are worried about the way they look. Not to say you can’t be specific but I truly think it shows when you just let go and have fun. Their engagement session was filled with happy, fun, laughing, relaxed, genuine moments. We were able to stop at 3 different spots along the road and finished up in just under an hour. It is just so easy to create such emotion in photography when its authentic. My suggestion? Adjust the little things you want before you arrive, tell me about any major things and then just let go and live a little with your love. Forget there’s a camera and a professional third wheel and ENJOY each other.
This was one of those moments when I remembered that I absolutely love photographing couples in love. This is why I do what I do, and why it’s worth all the little and big things to make a small business run. It is FUN. It gives you the little squeals; when it all unfolds in front of you and you get to be the one capturing the magic and creating it into something they can share with family and friends.
